January 2025 & Our Spring Farm Tour Season Is Open

It has been a beautiful January here at the farm. Kaikoa has been enjoying his walks and visits with the goats. He celebrated his 2nd birthday in January and had a farm themed party. He loved getting to show his friends around the farm, practicing his tour skills, and sharing his goat friends with his human friends.

Kaikoa is also excited for our kidding season to begin as he is starting to go into the kid barn and playpens looking for the babies. Our first kids will be born this first week of February and continue through early May. Our flower field is getting planted for the Spring and the ranunculus we planted in the Fall are starting to bloom early. We will have bouquets available this Spring for local pick-up as well as at our Farm tours.
With the kidding season upon us, we are excited to share that our Spring Farm Tour season will open in late March, excluding Easter weekend, and continue through early May. We will again be offering public tours on Saturdays and Sundays at 1 pm as well as private tours Monday through Friday at 1 pm, March 24th through May 2nd, based on our availability. You can reserve public tours via Tock and for private tours email capracopia@redwoodhillfarm.org. Please note all tours are weather permitting.
On your visit you will meet the stars of the farm, our intelligent and capricious dairy goats. Our farm tours offer a variety of activities from “kid cuddling” the newly arriving kids, watching the kids enjoying their lunch of goat milk, feeding the adult goats, and a hands-on milking demonstration by a member of our family. And back by popular demand, try your hand at milking a goat! Don’t forget to say hello to our chickens when you arrive and you are welcome to take a walk through the flower field and olive grove. The kid feeding demonstration starts the tour promptly at 1 pm. Our picnic area will be open and available to enjoy at 12 noon, if you would like to bring a picnic or snack.
We celebrate farm life while producing quality, artisan products. Take home seasonal favorites like our dry farm produced olive oil, fresh cut flower bouquets, and goat milk olive oil soap, that you can purchase at the farm market stand. An exciting new addition to this year’s tours will be delicious artisan goat cheese made by Mt. Eitan, from our Redwood Hill Farm goat milk, and will be available for purchase at the farmstand as well.

The Bice family, including Kaikoa :), are excited to welcome you to the farm this Spring!
